Introduction
Our diversity training courses are tailored to meet the needs of all organizations. They are structured to take into account the industry setting, progress made on diversity to date and the key client and community profile of the organization. Courses are highly interactive and participative with an emphasis on problem solving exercises. Participants receive tailor-made workbooks and follow-up materials.

Training sessions are designed for between 12 and 20 participants.

Our one-day (or two half-days) core course is divided into four themes:

1. Exploring the meanings and advantages of diversity in the workplace
 
How differences in background, experience and stereotyping create barriers to productivity innovation and quality of work
The context of diversity within the organization, amongst clients and communities
Diversity issues that impact the workplace
A framework for understanding the characteristics that are part of workplace diversity
2. Diversity and personal leadership
 
The importance of self-awareness and how this impacts on responses to diversity situations
The components of emotional intelligence and the development of empathy to guide actions and manage relationships
Using the organisations’ resources and policies to engage with diversity challenges
3. Managing for inclusion in the workplace
 
Developing relationship skills to build an inclusive workplace
Frameworks for exploring diversity issues in the workplace
Solving problems, encouraging initiative and innovation
Actions to prevent diversity conflicts and intervene in common diversity challenges
4. Leveraging diversity and achieving results
 
Developing proactive diversity strategies to increase employee satisfaction and create business success
Identifying leadership actions that develop diversity capability
Targeting areas and initiatives to further develop diversity capability
Developing consulting and coaching processes to enhance innovation, productivity, inclusions and customer satisfaction.

Our Diversity Philosophy
Managing diversity is how an organization creates a workplace that is inclusive, supportive, innovative, stimulating and respectful.

Celebrating diversity will promote the development of each person’s potential whilst leveraging diversity as an organizational resource and competitive advantage.

Inclusion means that everyone in the organization has the opportunity to fully participate in creating business value. Each individual is recognized for the distinctive skills, experiences and perspectives they bring to the business.

Emotional intelligence is the ability to understand our own and others’ emotions and aspirations. It is about developing empathy to guide our actions and manage diverse relationships.

Leveraging diversity will increase employee satisfaction, customer service and community engagement which adds value to business.

Our four step approach to diversity training
Step 1: Engagement

We work closely with your organization to:

Establish the extent of progression towards a diverse workplace
Examine the appropriateness of existing policies and procedures
Build a diversity profile of the organization and its most important client groups
Engage with the communities impacting the organization that have an interest in diversity
Evaluate sources of support and other resources to enrich the training programme
Step 2: Design
CSR Asia will design a tailor-made programme that fits the needs and aspirations of the organization taking into account industry, employee, customer and community priorities. We will design specific exercises and employee workbooks with these issues in mind to ensure maximum value to the organization.
Step 3: Delivery
Our courses are initially based on one-day (or two half-day) courses and follow the general structure of the course outlined on the opposite page. We use facilitators experienced in CSR and diversity training.
Step 4: Review
After the training sessions are completed we conduct formal reviews of content. In addition, we log the particular issues that arise during the training and submit a report outlining common themes and concerns. We provide recommendations for further developments in the organization’s diversity programme.
