Community Investment > CI Roundtable and LBG

CSR Asia’s Community Investment Roundtable (CIRT) is a network of companies working to achieve a higher standard of performance in their community involvement and engagement. Participants join a growing international network of companies using the LBG Model to maximize the impact of corporate community involvement programs.

  • Are you getting the most from your community investment in Asia?
  • Do you want to be more strategic about your community programmes in Asia?
  • Can you communicate the returns on your community investment?
  • Do you know the real value, for communities and for your business?
  • Do you want to be a leader in corporate community investment in Asia?

Join CSR Asia Asia's Community Investment Roundtable.

An increasing number of companies and their stakeholders want to understand companies’ impacts on communities where they operate, source and distribute products. Leading companies understand that investing in local communities can bring benefits to communities and to their business but face challenges in their approaches to community investment and how to build effective partnerships. CSR Asia is launching the Community Investment Roundtable, working with companies and other stakeholders to take community investment to a new level.

Our inaugural meeting in Hong Kong was held on March 4th hosted by UBS. Key issues faced by companies surrounding their community engagement in Asia were discussed and strategies and tools for managing and understanding their impact on communities were introduced. A follow up briefing was held on April 16th hosted by PricewaterhouseCoopers. We are currently planning a launch meeting in Singapore and Kuala Lumpur for June.

The roundtable is designed for those people working in companies who take responsibility for community investment, community engagement and partnership related activities.

The Roundtable is part of the LBG International and CSR Asia is trained as the facilitator in the region for the LBG approach. LBG International (www.lbg-international.com) is a global network of companies using the LBG Model to improve the management, valuation and measurement of corporate community involvement (CCI). Over 150 companies around the world use the LBG Model and participate in LBG Benchmarking Groups to share and drive best practice in CCI. The LBG International network brings together these national groups to promote LBG as the international standard for measuring and managing CCI.

The LBG model enables companies to better:
  • Value inputs
  • Assess outputs, and
  • Measure the impact
of corporate community investment. Adopting this approach improves program results and enhances reporting to key stakeholders.

The LBG Model encourages community managers to:
  • account for their total community spend
  • analyze the costs and benefits of community programs consistently
  • improve management information to guide future strategy
  • shift the debate from cash contributed to benefits achieved
  • capture and value all inputs, such as time and in-kind giving
  • enhance internal and external communications.
